A group of hikers from national law firm Stone King has raised more than £5,500 for a number of charities following a 28km hike in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons).

The 20-strong team braved the challenging terrain and 1,198m elevation, spurred on by the sunshine and beautiful mountain views, in aid of the Woodland Trust as well as three other charities.

The team smashed its £2,000 target, beating the amount raised on its fundraising hike last year.

Nicole Reed, Senior Associate at Stone King and hike organiser, said:

“It was a tough trek but our team spirit and the sunshine kept us marching! We had a fantastic time and are so grateful for all the kind support and donations as the charities we’ve chosen are really important to the team.”

The hike took place on Friday 15 September as part of Stone King’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), which encourages the firm’s people to take a day each year to support charitable causes. Stone King is one of the leading law firms in the UK for its work in the Charity Sector.

The hikers raised over £3,300 for the Woodland Trust including a donation from the Stone King Foundation, the firm’s charitable arm, which also donated £750 each to three charities which are important to our hikers – Blood Cancer UK, Trauma Recovery UK and Unique – bringing the total funds raised by the event to over £5,500.
