Government confirms teacher’s pay arrangements

The Government has confirmed initial details in relation to teacher pay arrangements and funding for 2019 / 2020.

Schools will be asked to fund 2% themselves from existing budgets, with the Government confirming there will be additional funding available via the teachers’ pay grant, for the remaining 0.75% of the increase.

This announcement does not automatically mean all teachers will receive a 2.75 % increase as there are still local decisions to be made by schools in relation to how this is applied. There are differing obligations for maintained schools and academies.
