Emma Suzuki
Associate Solicitor

Emma is an associate in the employment team at Stone King, having qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and spent her entire career specialising in employment law and employee relations work.  Emma is an adaptable practitioner and advises across the firm’s Education, Business & Social Enterprise, Charity and Faith sectors.  

During her career Emma has successfully assisted numerous clients in the course of employment tribunal litigation and settlement negotiations. On the non-contentious front, she has worked with start-ups to create fit-for-purpose HR policies, procedures, contracts of employment and has assisted with the employment law aspects of organisational change. Emma has many years of experience supporting HR teams on employee relations work.

She has worked in-house for large organisations taking the lead on employment law issues. Her career has included a hybrid mixture of HR and employment law assignments, as diverse as working in-house as a solicitor for a school meals contract catering company and heading up the HR department at the Royal Ballet School. Over the course of three years, Emma worked for an employer's association in the Higher Education sector, supporting HEIs navigate industrial action and the collective bargaining process. Emma provides the firm’s education sector clients with technical advice in relation to industrial action and trade union recognition.

Emma studied Classics and English at Kings College University of London and went onto study the Post Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law (now the University of Law).

When not working, Emma enjoys horse riding, walking, theatre and spending time with her family.

Taking a leading role in the legal due diligence process during the sale of Caterhouse Ltd to ISS Mediclean (now ISS Facility Services UK).  Supporting a large day nursery chain in the lead up to and during its acquisition process to achieve a smooth outcome.
