Jean is Head of the Employment, HR, Immigration teams and Joint Head of the Education sector. With nearly 20 years post qualification experience in the education sector, Jean is an accomplished employment lawyer who specialises in acting for those in the education sector. 

Jean has significant experience of advising trustees and executive teams on the most complex people related issues, often encompassing governance and regulatory complexities.  She is trusted by schools and colleges to provide strategic advice and guidance on people related matters, and is the go to employment lawyer in the sector for the most complex and high profile issues involving staff. Jean’s clients encompass some of the largest schools and trusts in the country, and her work is regularly reported in the national press.

Jean is an outspoken and active advocate in relation to education related issues impacting the sector. She works collaboratively with key intermediary bodies, motivated by a genuine desire to have impact in the sector.

Jean has also developed a niche practice alongside her employment advice which provides support to schools on issues relating to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and the Local Government Pension Scheme. In this respect Jean has particular expertise in relation to public to private sector outsourcing and admission arrangements.

Jean is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, is a regular speaker at national and regional conferences, and writes for numerous publications on sector specific issues.
