Philip joined Stone King early in 2015 and has just marked his tenth year with firm. Philip is lead partner in Private Client Property, and manages the teams based in our London and Bath offices.

Philip specialises in complex leasehold property work in London, including enfranchisement. He has expertise in the Building Safety Act 2022, which affect larger buildings comprised of flats, and leasehold reform under the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024.

Philip previously practised in North Yorkshire and continues his working rural and country houses, as well as trust and estate property transactions.

His work in rural and country houses includes adverse possession, easements, or rights, including prescriptive easements, and private drainage and water supply.

Philip delivers a personal private client service, including detailed advice on any more complex areas of property law, quickly identifying issues and providing practical solutions.

Philip sat on the Law Society Property Section committee from 2015 to 2023, and continues work closely with them, speaking at conferences and providing training via webinars.

Philip studied BA Modern Languages at Durham University for his undergraduate degree, and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Law degree from the College of Law.

Outside of work, and now a retired rower, Philip has moved to the perhaps gentler pursuits of cycling and hiking.
