Date updated: Tuesday 6th December 2022

Stone King is delighted to offer an Advent Series of webinars aimed specifically at our faith based charities. Each Wednesday during Advent we will review some of the key legal developments of 2022 across a range of pertinent areas. The webinars also create an opportunity for an open forum for attendees to discuss, reflect and share their thoughts on the past year and months ahead. In our series, we will cover commercial property, international movement post-Brexit and pandemic, international and cross-border matters and employment law.  We hope that you can join us for one or all of the free sessions in our Advent Series and look forward to welcoming you.

Charities, what to consider when disposing of land.

Katherine Trickett, Associate Solicitor in Stone King's Commercial Property Team will discuss points to consider when charities deal with land. If you are going to get involved with sales, purchases and the granting of leases, charity trustees need to comply with the terms of the charity’s constitution as well as statutory requirements.

Other matters to think about include the requirement for a qualified surveyor’s report, whether a schedule of condition is needed, is SDLT payable, and more.

We will also consider some key legislative changes including in relation to the Charities Act 2022 and EPCs.
