Thursday 22nd February 2024

The 2024 Bath Life Awards will take place on Thursday 29 February and Stone King are proudly sponsoring the charity category.

To discuss why we have supported the awards and this category for the last decade, Stone King Partner Tim Rutherford sat down with Bath-based publisher and the event’s organiser, MediaClash.

“As a firm, Stone King are very passionate about the role that charities and volunteers play in building a better society in Bath,” said Tim.  “It’s great to have a chance to shine a spotlight on the city’s positive force and energy” he added, “there’s so much being done by charities in and around Bath that should be celebrated.”

Discussing the outlook for Bath in 2024, Tim’s overall perspective was positive, although he did emphasise that the cost-of-living crisis continues to take its toll in the city, as it does around the UK. In response, Stone King are continuing to run two free law clinics in partnership with Citizens Advice and Bath Spa University. One offers free advice to local residents on a range of matters, from family law to immigration, while the other is for those wanting to learn more about setting up and operating social enterprises.

Of the awards evening itself, Tim said “I always find that I learn something new […] and, of course, it’s a great opportunity to catch up with all of the friends across the city who we deal with.”

On the Bath Life Awards more generally, Tim commented “It’s a tremendous opportunity to showcase the things that you are good at and the things that you have brought to the city, and also a way of making sure that the wider audience within the city knows what you’re doing and how to engage with you”.

The worthy finalists in the 2024 Bath Life Awards charity category are Bath Cats and Dogs Home, Bath City Farm, Bath Rugby Foundation, Ben Saunders Foundation, The Carers’ Centre, Julian House, RUHX (Royal United Hospital Charitable Fund), SWALLOW, VOICES, We Get It, and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
