Stone King has again been named one of the leading charity law firms in the influential Legal 500 industry directory.
Stone King is ranked as a top tier firm for the specialist advice it offers to charities and not-for-profit organisations in the 2015 edition of the annual guide to the best performing law firms.
The independent directory describes Stone King as an “excellent firm”. It adds: “Stone King LLP is an established name in the charities sector, with a broad client base and deep bench of quality lawyers.”
The 2015 edition continues: “Stone King LLP provides ‘very good’ advice to charities, including religious groups and independent schools, on constitutional, property, governance and employment matters.”
It adds that consultant Michael King was recently appointed as interim manager of Al-Fatiha Global by the Charity Commission while fellow lawyer Tim Rutherford advised the Sisters of Charity of St Louis on registration as a Charitable Incorporate Organisation.
Jonathan Burchfield, who is head of the charity and social enterprise team, receives very positive client feedback according to the 2015 guide, as does Hannah Kubie who delivers “excellent advice, both on a pragmatic and technical level”.
Ann Phillips, who is chair of the firm, is described as ‘a charity doyenne’ and is referred to as a leading charity lawyer along with Mr Burchfield.
In addition Robert Meakin, a partner in the firm’s charity and social enterprise team, “provides very high-quality service”.
Stone King’s Managing Partner Steven Greenwood said: “It is extremely gratifying to once again be included in the top tier of law firms for the quality of our legal expertise within the third sector. Our charity team has been strengthened with recent new hires and promotions.
“This is independent recognition of the very high levels of service that we provide to our many charity clients.”
