Monday 18th January 2016

Traditionally the first working day in January has always seen a large number of people contacting solicitors to seek divorce and separation legal advice, however Bath firm, Stone King LLP are able to offer not only the traditional legal advice but also options to enable families to make decisions about their future in a non-confrontational and amicable way.  Each year, large numbers of families become entrenched in lengthy and painful court disputes.  The ongoing parenting relationship between the parents becomes fractured, and all too often their children are caught up in the middle.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

There is another way, family mediation helps couples take control and build a future for their family, without a court imposing decisions on them.  The family mediation process can be used to resolve not only issues regarding children but also financial issues including pensions, maintenance and any property/capital you may own.

Research shows that mediation is often the best way for families to resolve conflicts. It is proven to be faster, less costly and – crucially – less adversarial than divorcing through the courts. Furthermore if couples reach the decision together through mediation, the arrangements are far less likely to break down than a decision that has been imposed on them.

Stone King has a team of 5 family mediators all of whom are qualified solicitors, in some cases we are even able to speak with your children to gain their views.
