Care Planning & Support

If you are the friend or relative of someone who requires care or has lost the capacity to make decisions for themselves it can be difficult to know where to turn for help and advice.  Navigating the care system can be complicated and fraught with difficulties.

Our experienced team help individuals, carers, attorneys and Court appointed Deputies to achieve the best possible outcome in all aspects of estate planning, care planning and mental capacity. We do this by providing a full consultancy service, offering advice on a variety of issues surrounding care and incapacity, tailored to each client’s individual needs.

We can help with:

  • Acting as Attorneys and Deputies - we can help make applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a deputy to manage the affairs on an individual who has lost capacity. We can also act as professional deputies and oversee the day to day management of someone’s affairs.
  • Court of Protection Applications - we can make applications to the Court of Protection for one off decisions regarding finances, health and welfare when a person lacks capacity, such as amending or making a new will, approval of tax planning schemes, or decisions about ongoing medical treatment or care.
  • Court of Protection Disputes
  • Discharge from Hospital & NHS Continuing Health Care Funding - we can advise you on the help you are entitled to from the state including NHS continuing health care and Local Authority means testing. We work closely with trusted specialist financial advisers to help you plan for the cost of care.
  • Advance Decisions (Living Wills) - we can help you record your wishes about future medical treatment.
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney - we can draw up and register Lasting Powers of Attorney. We can act as professional attorneys and help lay attorneys manage the affairs of incapacitated individuals.
