As part of our nationally leading specialist Education Team, we have a depth and breadth of experience in dealing with property issues for educational bodies that we do not believe can be found elsewhere.
Our clients encompass a very wide range of the education sector including:
- Community schools
- VA Schools (And their trustees)
- Foundation Schools and Trust Schools
- Independent schools
- Academies and their sponsors
- Further Education colleges
- Diocesan boards of education
- Higher Education institutions
- Professional associations/umbrella bodies
We have a unique breadth of experience across independent and maintained sector and have leading dedicated specialist technical know-how, and experience of the practical issues for a wide variety of projects.
In the maintained sector we have assisted numerous schools in connection with the land transfers and other related occupational agreements, arising from the change of status to Foundation and Trust schools, and we have often advised Governing Bodies and Foundation Trustees on Building Schools for the Future (BSF) projects, including PFI proposals.
We have particularly extensive experience in advising sponsors and the School Trusts of Academies on the property issues arising from Academy Projects.
We act for numerous independent schools on all their property matters, including construction and planning advice and on such things as to how property can be used to support the school’s requirements to demonstrate public benefit.
Our advice to FE and HE institutions again crosses the full range of property issues including major property development projects.
We also have specialist teams for Charity Property, Commercial Property and Private Investors.
