Sexual incidents can unfortunately occur within charities, just like in any other setting. In this webinar, we delve into a case study based on a fundraising event to examine the multifaceted issues that arise from such incidents.

The case study  includes a power imbalance between the parties involved, employees and volunteers, posting on social media and a ‘serious incident’ which is reportable to the Charity Commission.  We also explore how charity law, safeguarding, employment and criminal law matters come into play whilst also emphasising the human element, which is equally important in addressing these situations.

Our expert panel discuss proactive steps charities can take to prevent such incidents and the appropriate responses when they do occur. While this is undoubtedly a sensitive topic, it is of utmost importance for trustees and senior staff to be informed and prepared.
