The past year was a big one for Stone King’s Immigration Team and now, with 2024 well and truly underway, they’ve been looking back and reflecting on their recent legal, business development and ESG highlights.

In 2023, the team obtained over 20 sponsor licences for clients across the firm’s Faith, Education, Business and Charity sectors with a 100% success rate. In these cases, once the team has obtained such a licence, the Level 1 User service allows them to stay on with the client and provide further support.

Individuals also benefitted from the team’s expertise in a private client capacity, with 25 people receiving support on a wide range of complex immigration matters, including successfully assisting families seeking to relocate to the UK on a permanent basis.

Head of Immigration Team Julie Moktadir is a leading specialist in the immigration matters of faith-based organisations, and she supported the team to advise almost 50 such organisations last year.

2023 also saw the team obtain over 30 Skilled Worker, T2 Minister of Religion and T5 Religious Worker visas for individuals seeking to work in the UK.

Stone King’s Immigration Team has also launched a series of visa comparison packages for charitable, for educational and for faith-based organisations that wish to employ overseas nationals in the UK, both on a permanent or temporary basis.

Headed by Partner Julie Moktadir, the team includes Senior Associate Sarah Keeley, Solicitor Julianna Barker, Apprentice Solicitor Emily Ball, and Apprentice Paralegal Freya Newman.
